Dr. Joshua Lomke grew up in this office, spending many hours watching his father practice and developing his ambition to become a dentist. After having been an associate for several years, in 2025, Dr. Josh purchased his fathers practice and has continued the Smile Designs of Olney legacy.
Dr. Lomke received his B.S. in biology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011 and was then awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2015, graduating near the top of his class. Dr. Lomke also received membership to multiple honors organizations including Gamma Pi Dela Prosthodontic Honors Society, GORGAS Odontological Honors Society, and Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity.
Following graduation, Dr. Lomke spent almost 4 years working in Connecticut under the guidance of a nationally renowned and awarded cosmetic and full mouth rehabilitation dentist. During that time, Dr. Lomke was able to hone his skills with respect to smile makeovers, veneers, as well as other complex and cosmetic dental treatments.
As a general dentist, Dr. Lomke will treat and manage our patients overall oral health care needs, including gum care, root canals, fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges and more complex procedures. Dr. Lomke is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Southern Maryland Dental Society and regularly participates in continuing education courses to advance his dental knowledge and provide only the newest and finest technologies to his patients.
Dr. Lomke enjoys spending his time relaxing with his wife and son Owen, golfing, and playing with his mini Goldendoodle Dunkin!
